Cocaine Test
Cocaine is probably one of the most serious drugs that anyone could ever get involved in. Cocaine can ruin your life and even ruin the lives of everyone around you. This particular addiction is one that is hard to fight and a lot of people die living with a cocaine addiction. One method that some people use in order to attempt to kick the habit is via getting a prescription to methadone. While on methadone, the doctor will require you to perform a cocaine test where you give a urine sample to make sure that you are not doing drugs any more. There are a lot of reasons that a cocaine test can become useful in various environments.
There is not an exact answer as to how long cocaine will actually stay inside you. However long it takes for the drug metabolites to leave your system depends on various things. When a cocaine test is conducted, the urine sample will be reviewed for any traces of benzoylecgonine – a cocaine metabolite. The reason for this is due to the fact that cocaine will metabolize too quickly for a standard testing. So you can’t actually be asking how long the cocaine stays in your system because that is not what matters. You will want to know the amount of time that benzoylecgonine will be in you for.
The amount of time that the cocaine metabolite stays in your system can be a very long time if you are using cocaine heavily and frequently. On the other side of things, you will have to have a lot of the cocaine metabolite for the results of the cocaine test to read it as it came from cocaine usage. A minimum of 300 nanograms per millilitre (300 micrograms per litre) must be discovered in the urine sample for the person reviewing the cocaine test sample to safely assume that it was from cocaine usage.
