How to Conduct a Hair Follicle Test
Performing a hair follicle drug test is a little bit different than a saliva or urine test because of the complications that there are. It takes a bit longer to get the results and getting the sample takes a bit more concentration. You will have to collect a decent amount of hair strands for the sample. The hair strands that are collected will be taken from close to the scalp but not too close. The hair strands will have to be fairly lengthy so that the screening of the hair follicle test sample will be accurate.
Once the sample is collected, the results won’t be instant. The sample that was collected for the hair follicle test kit must be sent to a lab. Most kits will include the lab fee in the cost for the kit which is around $50-60 so the only other cost could be the shipping fees. When the sample gets to the lab, the lab worker will screen it. The lab worker has to review the hair strands then turn the strands into liquid state and look for various chemicals in it. As you can see, the hair follicle test is not that simple to conduct.
So when picking the right type of test kit, only choose the hair follicle test if the goal is to look for any history of drug use and if it is alright to wait a little while (up to a few weeks) for the results. The accuracy is nearly perfect with the hair follicle test and there is a very low chance of anyone actually successfully cheating the test though so it could be the right choice.
