Employee Drug Tests – What to Test for
When an employer decides to test their soon-to-be or current employees for drug use, there are a lot of things to figure out. In most cases, the urine drug test kits will be sufficient to do the job. The accuracy is good enough, the price is affordable, and it is rather simple to conduct a urine drug test. One thing that does have to be looked at is what panel drug test it is. Tests come in 1 to 12 panels. Each panel is for a drug so you choose the amount of drugs that are being tested for between one and twelve.
List of Drugs
For employee drug tests, the most common is a 5 panel drug test. The five types of drugs that are usually tested for are: PCP, THC (marijuana and hashish), opiates (morphine, oxycodone, etc), methamphetamine/amphetamines, and cocaine.
The list of drugs used in employee drug tests is based on what the employer wants to test for. Those are the most common things to be tested for but the list could change. If it is a test to find out if the person is using performance enhancers because it’s for a sports league, it will obviously be a lot different.
When planning employee drug tests, it is important that you figure out what you plan on testing for and what type of drug test kits will be used.
