Drug Testing your Kids
One thing that passes through a lot of parent’s minds when their kids start going to high school is that they become curious that their child might be using drugs or consuming alcohol. Drugs and alcohol are becoming normal in a lot of teenagers lives so parents do have a right to be worried. However, it is hard to say what kind of actions should be taken. If a parent gets angry at their child or tries to suffocate them with worry, the child will rebel and things will worsen. With that said, is it really safe to drug test your kids or would it ruin your relationship with them?
It’s hard to say if drug testing will ruin your relationship with your child or not. A lot of teens will take it personal. If they don’t use drugs and if they do, they will probably rebel further because they don’t admit to their problems or don’t want to fix them. The best bet is to speak with your child first if you see signs of drug use and ask them if they are using. If they say no, wait for a while and if the symptoms worsen, then you should conduct a drug test on them.
You don’t want to pressure your child too much though and it is a difficult thing to do. Drug testing your child is not something that a lot of parents would want to do but it may be important. If it seems like your teenage child has serious problems, you have to find out what is going on so you can help fix it. On the other hand, your child has to admit to the problem and want to fix it to be able to.
