Guide to Perform a Urine Drug Test
Urine tests can be packaged as anywhere from 1-12 panel drug test kits. All that is meant by the number of panels is how many drugs are being tested at once. So the instructions to perform the urine test are as follows:
Room Temperature
You will want to give the testing device and urine time to level off to room temperature. That would be around 15-30°C or so. You should wait till the pouch (containing the dip test kit) is at room temperature before you open it.
Extracting the Sample
Now you should take the cover off of the testing side of the dip stick. Make sure that the arrows point to the urine. Then put the stick into the urine for about 15 seconds. Make sure the urine doesn’t go past the arrows on the testing device.
Wait for Results
Set the test panel somewhere that none of the sample will get absorbed. Set the timer to begin. After 5-10 minutes, the coloured lines should appear with the results.
Results
If two lines show up, that would mean that the results are negative. This means that there was no evidence of drug use for the drug(s) that were tested. If one line shows up, that would mean that the results are positive. This means that there was evidence of drug use for one or more of the drugs that were tested for. When there are two lines, they will sit in the control and test regions. If there is one line, it’s just in the control region. The last possibly is to have invalid results where no line shows in the control region. This may mean that there was not a big enough sample to produce accurate results.
That is the basic rundown on how you can perform a urine drug test by yourself. Not too complicated and the results are pretty quickly returned.
