High School Drug Tests
While it may be obvious that professional athletes are drug tested, have you ever thought that your 14, 15, 16, or 17 year old child is being tested for drug use as well? There are a lot of high schools that are starting to drug test those on sport teams. High school drug tests may sound silly and unwarranted but there is some logic behind it.
Psychology
While not many people would think that their teenage child would be using drug, or at least to enhance their game, it does happen. College drug testing is very common because there are a lot of people that use drugs to enhance their game. It is thought that there could be some high school students that are dedicated to win at all costs. Therefore, there is a chance that they start using the drugs in high school.
Pattern
Addictions are formed by habits. While some people may start juicing or using other enhancement drugs in college or in the professional leagues some start at a younger age. Just like with any drug, take marijuana for instance, it starts as just using it on the weekends then forms into a habit. After you have a habit to do something, it will quickly grow into an addiction.
There is a principle behind high school drug tests but as a parent it might blow your mind to think of it. Either way, high school drug tests can also help prevent teens from growing addicted to enhancers to try to make it into the professional leagues. Finding out early will give you a better chance of preventing the person from continuing using the drugs for the rest of their life.
