Saliva Alcohol Test

There are other ways to perform an alcohol test. The saliva alcohol test is one of the basic but efficient methods of doing so. Usually the saliva alcohol test consists of a testing device which is portable and disposable. The whole test is rather easy to conduct. Getting the sample is easy and screening the results is easy as well.

There are problems with the saliva alcohol test as well though. It has been though that there is a relation between your saliva contents (your alcohol concentration level in your saliva) and your blood alcohol concentration level. This relationship has not been proven and is just a theory so far. The testing devices have not been found to be guaranteed to work efficiently and reliably but it is believed that there is a good chance that everything is related somehow and the results are rather accurate.

With saliva alcohol tests, false positive results can be given a lot of the time. The temperature around the testing device can offset the saliva alcohol test device. If the temperature around you is really high and it’s hot and humid out, the results will show higher than they really are. If the temperature around you is really cold and it’s freezing out, this will lead to results showing lower than they really are.

All that can be really said about the saliva alcohol test that is good is that they are cheap, small, and easy to operate. They can be accurate if done properly but there are a lot of things that make them sceptical and not the first choice. If you just need a somewhat accurate reading, they will be alright. If you need pinpoint results, they are a terrible product.
