How Drug Test Samples are Collected
Each type of drug test holds a value over the other. Some are more accurate, some will provide you with the results quicker, and some are cheaper. There is one thing that is unique about each test though and that would be the process of collecting the sample.
Each test has a different procedure that you must go through to collect the sample for the drug test kit. Let’s take a look at how each sample is taken.
Urine Test Sample
To take a sample for a urine test, it is pretty basic. The person will (in most cases) have to urinate into a cup or bottle and give it to the person performing the test.
Hair Follicle Test Sample
Collecting a hair sample may be a bit timelier but it just consists of the person taking a fair amount of hair strands from the person’s head. The hair strands must be somewhat long and the sample has to be taken from close to the scalp.
Saliva Test Sample
For a saliva test, collecting the sample is rather easy. A stick is placed in the mouth directly underneath the lower teeth set and above the gums. The swab stick is left there for a few moments and then taken out.
Blood Test Sample
Getting a sample for a blood test is definitely the hardest type of sample to collect. In order to properly get a blood sample, it must be done with a needle and has to be done by a health care professional.
As you can see, each test has a unique way that the sample must be taken but for the most part, none of the tests (except the blood test) are too difficult to conduct.
